New Zealand’s longest river, the mighty Waikato, tumbles its way into a gorge only 15 meters wide. Used to its 100 metre wide path, the large river rages over a 20 metre drop in the gorge creating a spectacular and treacherous waterway that is as beautiful as it is dangerous - The Huka Falls.

Get close to the foot of the waterfall in a jet boat and bear witness to one of nature’s marvels. Fabulous blue-green hues, the Huka Falls are a breathtaking sight to behold. Though not one of New Zealand’s highest waterfalls, the Huka Falls pumps over 220,000 litres per second of crystal clear water over its rocky steps making them one of New Zealand’s largest falls. Close to Taupo and a gorgeous 45 minute scenic drive from Rotorua, the Huka Falls area provides great activities such as walks and jet boating, a cafe for the famished, and a magnificent scope for any amateur or professional photographer’s imagination.
